Tony Dungy on the Sovereignty of God

Tony Dungy will always hold a special place in the heart of Tampa Bay Buccaneer fans. He was the coach who took a losing franchise and made it a winner. While Jon Gruden is the coach who won the Super Bowl with the Bucs, Tony Dungy is the one who got them there.

In December of 2005, Tony Dungy's oldest son committed suicide. The death of a child is the most traumatic event than any parent could ever face. That pain is surely multiplied when the child has taken his own life.

On ESPN.com, writer Michael Smith has written an article appropriately titled, "Amazing Grace". It tells how Coach Dungy's faith, specifically his confidence in a loving, sovereign God, has carried him through this tragedy.

Leave it to ESPN to write a great article on the practical implications of theology.
